About the People

We are the ……

LAC QUI PARLE PLAYERS

There is something uniquely wholesome about a community making its own entertainment. Performers grow personally and as a group and our audiences are proud of them and supportive of their efforts. Everyone likes to live in a great community, and happenings at the Prairie Arts Center make our community a richer place to live. There are ample opportunities for involvement: on the stage, behind the scenes, or in the audience. We are thankful for and proud of the strong history and commitment to theater arts that our community has. We welcome you to take part.

The Lac qui Parle Players, Inc. was formed in 1984 as a means to stimulate and encourage theatrical activities, providing local performers with opportunities to share their talents. Our rural community has been very supportive of the arts and events are well attended. Some recent projects include the popular Country Christmas Show, which has been running for over 15 years during the Christmas Season; Summer Shakespeare projects for high school and college aged youth; Community Musicals; and some smaller productions such as one-act plays and variety shows.
